PM Orbán to take part in EU teleconference on developments in Belarus

Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, said that Hungary backs Poland’s call for the presidential election in Belarus to be repeated with international monitoring.

 

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will take part in a teleconference of European Union leaders on developments in Belarus on Wednesday.

The Hungarian government has not disclosed anything about its stance on the Belorussian events. Meanwhile, both Fidesz’s youth organization Fidelitas and the Christian Democrat’s (KDNP) similar body (IKSZ), refused to sign the European People’s Party’s (EPP) youth organization’s statement.

On Monday, Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, said that Hungary backs Poland’s call for the presidential election in Belarus to be repeated with international monitoring.
