President János Áder takes oath for second term of office

The president’s office said that Áder had always considered the presidency a constitutional service in which the head of state answers to the Hungarian nation

President János Áder has taken his second oath of office for his second term as Hungary's president in Parliament today.

Parliament voted President Áder into office for a second five-year term in March. He won the majority vote with 131 votes out of a possible 199.

President Áder was up against László Majtényi, who received just 44 votes, for Hungary’s president.

The president’s office said that Áder had always considered the presidency a constitutional service in which the head of state answers to the Hungarian nation.
