Red Bull Air Race in Budapest this weekend

Viewing is free for spectators along the edge of the river, so don't miss out!

Budapest will once more be the scene of an adrenaline filled weekend, as the 70th Red Bull Air Race returns for the ninth time to fly above the Danube.

In the spectacular video attached, footage from last year to give you a taster for this weekend, it shows the Red Bull planes battling it out for the fastest time.

The weekend will surely be one of suspense, as out of the 14 pilots competing, every single one of them has the potential to take home the win. It will take a lot of limit pushing for one of the determined pilots to gain that split second that will bring him to the top of the podium.

The fourth stop of the season will have the crowd holding their breath for sure: not only will they have the chance to see planes dart under the Chain Bridge just meters above the water of the Danube, but they can also expect to see the pilots taking truly heart-stopping chances.

The Hungary stop marks the mid-point of the 2016 Red Bull Air Race World Championships and yet, no pilot had demonstrated any true dominance over the first half of the season. With six different winners over eight stops, it's extremely hard to tell who will be the winner at this stop… and of the season overall.

Everyone will be on the edge of their seat for this one, including Hungary’s most beloved pilot, Peter Besenyei, winner of the very first race and the first season's title, in 2003, who will be watching alongside thousands from the edge of the river.
