Students from the 7th grade of the Fasori Lutheran High School recently joined the Hungarian Interchurch Aid’s National Advent Donation to raise money for worthy causes

Students from the 7th grade of the Fasori Lutheran High School were surprised by Olympic Champion István ‘Koko’ Kovács this week for their support of local charities.

The students recently joined the Hungarian Interchurch Aid’s National Advent Donation to raise money for worthy causes.

According to reports, 29 students purchased a szertet.éhség (hunger for love) donation coupon out of their own pocket money.

‘Koko’ Kovács , the Goodwill Ambassador of the Hungarian Interchurch Aid, was so impressed that he decided to thank the students personally for joining the initiative.

“Charity and helping other people are like sport: you can't start it early enough, and if it accompanies our lives, we can not only bring joy to other people’s life with difficult circumstances, but we will be stronger, healthier and happier, too,” he said.

Kristóf Gáncs, the Director of Communication of the organization, said the actions of the students is exemplary and carries an important message: in order to help, we do not have to be rich, and not even an adult.
