According to MTI, the jury of the recently reformed Hungarian film funding system will sample the movies to put forward Hungary's pick for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

Andy Vajna’s reform of Hungary's film fund played a huge part in the success of two Oscar-winning Hungarian films, Son of Saul in 2016 and Sing in 2017. Hungary is hoping for more success at the 2018 ceremony.
