We Should Have Applied Restricting Measures Earlier on in Europe

On Saturday, Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister György Bakondi told public television channel M1 that European countries should have applied the restricting measures – which have been recently introduced by Macedonia – against migrants to which they are entitled to in terms of the Schengen regulations from the beginning on in order to protect the external borders.

The Chief Security Advisor also emphasised that in terms of the Geneva Convention, it should have already been checked in Turkey who is entitled to for a refugee status and who is not.

Hungary has been crossed by the citizens of 104 countries; many of these people had not set off because of war, prosecution or other dangers threatening their lives but because of meagre economic prospects and in the hope of a better life, Mr. Bakondi explained.
