The talks focused on the priorities of Czechia’s presidency of the Council of the European Union as well as the challenges facing the bloc.
The president said all the four member states have a vested interest in continuing a close Visegrad cooperation.
“We regard the Czech Republic as a friend and strategic partner,” PM Orbán said in his letter.
PM Orbán will hold talks with his Czech counterpart Andrej Babiš.
The details of the agreement would be set down by the end of the week on lifting all travel restrictions between the two countries for inoculated citizens.
Czech PM Babiš will discuss issues concerning the epidemic, including Hungary’s findings about the Russian Sputnik V vaccine, with Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
“I want to make it clear that we consider Vera Jourová’s remarks as remarks by an EC vice president,” the foreign minister said. “We do not identify Jourová with the Czech Republic or the Czech government,” he added.
