St. Stephen’s Basilica Christmas market has been voted the most beautiful in Europe.
More than 280,000 people voted for their favorite Christmas market in this year’s European Best Destinations (EBD) competition, which aims to promote European culture and tourism in cooperation with the European Tourism Agency and the EDEN network.
Hungarian Insider points out that the Advent fair in front of the Basilica received a record 39,448 votes, ahead of the previous record, the Zagreb Christmas fair, which received 38,830 votes in 2018.

At the Basilica Christmas market, visitors can taste the delicacies of Hungarian cuisine in addition to buying Christmas presents. An important element of the Budapest event is the monumental 3D light show, which is projected onto the facade of St. Stephen’s Basilica in the evenings.
