Coronavirus Update: All Hungarian-Romanian border crossings to open tomorrow

During today’s Operational Group press conference, Róbert Kiss, Lieutenant Colonel of the Hungarian Police Force, revealed that all Romanian-Hungarian border crossings will open from 6 a.m. tomorrow morning.

Kiss also spoke about the fact that Romanian citizens arriving at or traveling to Liszt Ferenc Airport are exempt from the official home quarantine rules. The condition for the entry of transit passengers is that they submit to a medical examination, they must have a valid flight ticket and are allowed access to the destination country.

Hungarians can also cross the Austrian border if they can prove that they are not infected with the coronavirus. However, Kiss said there are unfortunately a couple of hours to wait at several border crossings.
