Futuristic plans unveiled for new M2 metro line

The new M2 route will take just 25 minutes to reach Deák Ferenc Square from Rákoskeresztúr instead of the current 60 minute journey

Futuristic plans have been unveiled for the new M2 metro line.

According to Szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu, the authorisation plan for the connection of the M2 metro line and suburban railway line H8 (Gödöllő) will soon be prepared.

The project is divided into five phases, with the first two having their construction permits issued by 2019.

Péter Kovács, mayor of the 16th district of Budapest, said the government will support the project through the next EU funding cycle.

The new route will take just 25 minutes to reach Deák Ferenc Square from Rákoskeresztúr instead of the current 60 minute journey.
