Designated personnel of the Hungarian Defence Forces (HDF) will assist from Thursday in delivering firewood provided under the social firewood program to those in need

More than 30 trucks and 160 soldiers are taking part in the operation in three counties – Baranya, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg. The soldiers load the cut firewood onto trucks, transport it to designated addresses, and unload it on site.

Units involved in the task include the HDF György Lahner 2nd Supply Regiment, the HDF István Bocskai 11th Armoured Hajdú Brigade, the Kaposvár battalion of the HDF György Klapka 1st Armoured Brigade, as well as the HDF Antal Vattay 2nd Territorial Defence Regiment, the HDF Gyula Bauer 5th Territorial Defence Regiment, and the HDF Gergely Bornemissza 2nd Reconnaissance Regiment.

The personnel of the listed units will carry out their tasks under the command of the HDF Logistics Support Command, the ministry said.
