Data released by the Central Statistics Office (KSH) on Thursday shows that guest nights at commercial and private tourism accommodations in Hungary rose 3.9pc to 2,317,000 in February from the same period a year earlier.
The number of guest nights spent by domestic travellers edged down 2.1pc to 1,011,000, while guest nights spent by foreign visitors increased 9.0pc to 1,306,000.
Revenue of commercial accommodations, which include hotels, bed-and-breakfasts, camp sites, resorts and hostels, rose 17pc to HUF 59.8bn.
A total of 18,964 tourism accommodations hosted guests in February, including 16,925 private and other accommodations.
For the period January-February, the number of guest nights increased 6.2pc to 4,587,000 from the same period a year earlier. The number spent by domestic travellers inched down 0.7pc to 2,006,000 and the guest nights spent by foreign visitors climbed 12.3pc to 2,581,000.
