Balázs Hidvéghi, the parliamentary state secretary of the Prime Minister's Cabinet Office, said an overwhelming majority, 95-99 percent, of respondents in the latest National Consultation public survey on the economy supported measures proposed by the government.
The result of this recent 14th survey shows that "there is national consensus as regards the [government's] economic neutrality policy," Hidvéghi told a press conference, adding that it gave the government a strong mandate by Hungarians to start the implementation of its plans in 2025.
"The government will enforce the will of Hungarians in line with their answers given to planned measures in the survey, even if parts of them go against Brussels' endeavours."
He noted that the implementation of the planned economic measures had already started in some areas that include the Demján Sándor Program aimed at scaling up SMEs, three-year wage increases and the loan scheme designed for young workers.
In answering a question about Hungarian-US relations after Donald Trump took office, Hidvéghi said that they were expected to be more reasonable based on mutual respect and partnership.
"The US government change will also be important from an economic point of view. Hungary will highly welcome US capital investments," he said.
