Prime Minister Viktor Orbán held talks with Phankham Viphavanh, his Laotian counterpart, in Brussels on Wednesday.
PM Orbán and Phankham marked the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Hungary and Laos and noted that Laos has opened its new embassy in Budapest, while Hungary will raise its diplomatic mission in Vientiane to embassy level next year. PM Orbán expressed pleasure that Hungary and Laos continued to strengthen their economic cooperation “even in these crisis-hit times”. The two leaders also discussed the global political situation, agreeing on the need for an immediate ceasefire and peace talks in the Russia-Ukraine war.
