PM Orbán: Protecting Hungary is the government’s most important aim

The prime minister reiterated to army leaders that in the current era of dangers, protecting Hungary is the government’s most important aim.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was updated on the Hungarian armed forces’ defense capabilities at a joint forces command control center in Székesfehérvár on Monday.

Defense Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky briefed PM Orbán about the standing of the defense and armed forces development program, the related training of personnel and achievements in capability development. PM Orbán reiterated to the army leaders that in the current era of dangers, protecting Hungary is the government’s most important aim. As a result, the development of the army and the defense industry must not slow down despite the economic crisis caused by sanctions, he added. “We, Hungarians are pro-peace but we must keep our powder dry,” he said.
