Prime Minister Viktor Orbán sent his condolences to Benjamin Netanyahu, his Israeli counterpart, over the weekend following a stampede that claimed many lives at a religious gathering at Mount Meron.
“I was deeply saddened to learn about the tragic event that claimed the lives of many participants and left several others injured at a mass gathering for celebrating the Lag B’Omer holiday,” PM Orbán said in a letter.
The prime minister extended his condolences, sympathy and solidarity with the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to those injured. “We are in our thoughts and prayers with the victims, their families and the people of Israel in this difficult time,” PM Orbán said.
