Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said we don't want to die for Ukraine, what's needed is a ceasefire, peace and negotiations, the diplomats taking back control from the generals.
Speaking at the Patriots for Europe party family event in Mormant-sur-Vernisson, France, on Monday, PM Orbán said in his speech broadcast live on public television that "pro-war politicians want us to believe that the war must be continued. I warn you: this war cannot be won, there is no solution on the battlefield, only the dead, suffering and destruction".
The prime minister said he was from a country that was Ukraine's neighbor. "We don't want our sons to return in coffins, we don't want Afghanistan in our neighbourhood, we don't want Brussels to introduce military economy on the excuse of the war, we don't want them to take out gigantic loans, we don't want them to federalise the money of member states, and we don't want them to chase our countries into an arms race. I ask you, let's stop them," he added.
Marking Pentecost, PM Orbán said the holiday was "a great victory of Christianity". "It was a miracle: the sons of faraway nations suddenly understood each other…"
PM Orbán said that a year ago, "Europe's nations started to speak the same language: that of sovereignty and freedom; the French, Italians, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, Czech, Polish, Austrians and Hungarians said: enough of Brussels."
"If we stand together, we will be strong and win," he said.
The prime minister said Hungary was the "black sheep" of the European Union, "the nightmare of Brussels, the hope of European patriots and the outpost of Christians."
"The egg-head Brussels bureaucrats attacking Hungary have no idea what it means to fight for freedom, democracy and the homeland. They should be quiet and get down to work," he said.
He called Marine Le Pen, the head of France's National Rally, "a friend, a fantastic person, a tireless leader and a brave fighter who never betrays, never abandons anyone and who follows the rules of honour."
"France must be very rich indeed if it can afford not to make Marine Le Pen president," he said.
"Twenty years ago, we realised that the train of the globalist Western world was rushing towards a precipice and if we stay on it, we will be ruined. The number of children born was declining, great global companies were robbing us, internationalist progressives had taken over the universities and culture, we were being ruled by NGOs and media networks paid from Brussels and Washington, mocking the family, nation and Christianity."
"Meanwhile, migrants paid by Soros and Brussels broke into the country," he said.
In response, PM Orbán said they had "revolted, organised the patriotic right, swept the left off the stage and adopted a new constitution that contains the inviolability of sovereignty, the protection of children and the family, and that the father is a man and the mother a woman."
As a result of a border fence, "the number of migrants in Hungary is zero," he said. "There are no street gangs here, no anti-Semitism, violence and disturbance."
"Hungary belongs to Hungarians, families are respected again, working mothers are exempt from paying PIT until the end of their lives…" he said.
Meanwhile, "Brussels is threatening and blackmailing" Hungary with financial sanctions for not allowing migrants into the country. "One million euros a day is a lot of money, but we would rather pay than let even one of them enter…"
"We will not allow them to ruin the safety of Hungarian cities and streets… We will not spread our hands and point the finger at Brussels and international law like some losers… We will act," PM Orbán said.
"This is not migration, this is an organised population exchange replacing the cultural foundation of Europe. We Hungarians will not kneel before Brussels but stand with the people and fight for them."
"We are fighting for families and the homeland, even if we need to face the entire bureaucracy of Brussels," he said.
"We are leaving a European, Christian, patriotic country for our children and grandchildren."
Meanwhile, PM Orbán said the European right wing was "under an unprecedented attack of bureaucrats and judges who have never been elected. We will put an end to that. We have made an alliance, and we are pushing forward. We Hungarians need your victory because we can't occupy Brussels without you and can't remove ourselves from Brussels's torture chamber," he said.
Referring to Le Pen, PM Orbán said: "You have an excellent leader, you only have to want it and you will succeed."
