Réka Purgel, a 23-year-old university student has won the 200th edition of the Belle of the Anna-ball competition.
Held at the Anna Grand Hotel, Velence on Saturday July 27th, the prestigious event featured a beauty peagant, an operetta performance and speeches by Miklós Kásler, the Minister of Human Capacities and István Bóka, the mayor of Balatonfüred.
Back in its heyday, the Belle of the Anna-ball was frequently attended by renowned literary figures, politicians and various members of high society. Lajos Kossuth, Miklós Wesselényi and Mór Jókai were just some of the regular guests.
Previous winners include Zoé Kinga Tóth, a PR and marketing specialist, Dorina Barna, a secondary school student and Korinna Kocsis, a model.
