The Verona bus crash death toll has reached 17 after another victim passed away due to his injuries, it has been announced.
According to MTI, a man who suffered serious burns, when the Hungarian bus crashed near Verona in Italy in January, died in a Budapest hospital this week.
The man aged 40 died from the failure of several organs and serious pneumonia. The man suffered burns to 60 percent of his body and was already in a septic condition when he was returned to Budapest.
Doctors revealed that another man involved in the accident is still in hospital with serious injuries. He is in a stable condition, able to communicate but still awaits major skull surgery.
The bus carrying students and teachers from the Szinyei Merse Pál Secondary School in Budapest, as well as family members, crashed and burst into flames on the Venice-Verona motorway on January 20th, following a ski trip. The crash has been attributed to human error.
