PM Orbán: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is a 'comedian'

"We will not allow Brussels to double Hungarian families' utility costs at the behest and lobbying of President Zelensky," the foreign minister said.
Tamás Menczer, the Fidesz-Christian Democrat parties' communications director, said 2.2 million people in the Vote 2025 survey stated that Hungary came first, not Ukraine.
The foreign minister said the government will fight against the plan with all means in its power.
"For us, Hungary comes first!" Tamás Menczer said, urging compatriots to fill out the Vote 2025 ballot in the remaining five days left to do so.
Minister Szijjártó referred to Volodymyr Zelensky's recent statement that a majority of Hungarians were likely to support his country's EU bid.
"We proposed a Christmas ceasefire and a significant exchange of prisoners of war. Regrettably, Ukrainian President Zelensky point-blank rejected this (proposal) ... We have done what we were able to," PM Orbán said.
The prime minister suggested that Ukraine put forward an action plan that would be beneficial for Ukraine’s negotiations in the EU accession process as well as for the Hungarian minority.
Zelensky expressed his gratitude to Hungary for its humanitarian support for Ukraine, underlining that he believed that saving lives was the most important consideration.
The prime minister wished Ukraine success and said he had come to Kyiv to achieve progress in bilateral ties.

The president urged “meaningful steps” to be taken concerning the rights of Transcarpathian Hungarians.
