Speaking about the Metropolitan Municipality Home for the Elderly at today’s Operational Group press conference, Chief Medical Officer Cecília Müller said there have been 56 more confirmed cases found within the home and the sick have been sent to Szent János Hospital. Müller said the patients are fine, and most have no symptoms. “Those who remained in the home have been segregated and a disinfection of the building has begun,” she added.
Müller also highlighted that the symptoms of the coronavirus are very similar to the flu. “Fever, headache, muscle aches, shortness of breath and choking are the typical symptoms of the virus, however they can vary when accompanied with certain chronic diseases and age,” she said. “If we exclude people who fell ill at the elderly home from the national data, the number of confirmed cases show an increase, and the spread of the epidemic has accelerated,” she added.
Meanwhile, Róbert Kiss, Lieutenant Colonel of the Hungarian police force, reported that “five new flights have landed in Budapest from China and South Korea bringing 5.1 million masks, 20,000 tests and 5,000 gloves.”
Kiss also said that so far authorities have imposed 2,062 fines and 2,082 complaints were filed for violations of curfew.
