The prime minister rejected claims that Hungary represents the past, reminding his audience that similar accusations were made in 1848 when Austrian rule seemed unstoppable and in 1956 when Soviet control appeared unshakable. Today, he said, the same forces promote a new empire that seeks to erase nations, uproot traditions, and impose an ideological agenda.
“They said we are the past, but beyond the ocean, a shift has occurred, and it turns out we are the future,” he declared, adding that the future belongs not to empires, but to patriots and free nations.
Hungary, PM Orbán emphasized, is once again on the frontlines, standing against those who want to reshape Europe through mass migration and ideological subversion. “We have not given up. We did not allow them to take over our country, our parliament, or our government,” he declared. Despite years of political blackmail, financial pressure, and foreign interference, Hungary has stood firm. “They have been trying for 15 years, but they have not succeeded.”
The prime minister pointed to the rising strength of national movements across Europe, citing victories in Italy, the Netherlands, and Austria as signs of an ongoing shift. “The patriots of the Western world have gained strength. They have gained strength and won.” He stressed that Hungary was not only the first to resist globalist forces but also led the way in reclaiming national sovereignty. “We can be proud because we were the heralds of this worldwide freedom fight, its pioneers, and we cleared the way,” he said.
On Ukraine, he condemned Europe’s reckless escalation, warning that Hungary would not be dragged into a war that is not its own. “Europe has dived headfirst into the war between Russia and Ukraine,” PM Orbán said, criticizing Brussels' leadership for prioritizing foreign interests over national well-being. “The empire does not want to help Ukraine, it wants to colonize it.” Hungary, he stated, will not allow its resources to be plundered for this purpose. “Our only answer can be: Union, but without Ukraine.”
The prime minister reminded Hungarians that “the war was not put to the Hungarian people for a vote, but they will not be able to avoid asking us about Ukraine’s EU membership,” urging citizens to stand firm in the upcoming referendum.
As he reached the height of his speech, PM Orbán issued a final warning to those who serve foreign interests against Hungary. “After today’s national gathering comes the Easter spring cleaning. The stinkbugs have survived the winter. We will dismantle the financial machinery that, with corrupt dollars, has bought politicians, judges, journalists, fake civil organizations, and political activists. We will eliminate the entire shadow army. They are our modern-day traitors, Brussels' lackeys, who push the empire’s agenda against their own homeland for money.”
He then declared that their time is up. “The spring wind will bring the flood—let it wash them away.”
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán closed with a rallying cry that resonated through the crowd. “The Lord above us all, Hungary above everything! Go Hungary! Go Hungarians!” His words left no doubt that Hungary will never surrender, never be ruled by foreign powers, and will always stand firm in its defense of sovereignty, freedom, and national identity.
