The total number of vaccinated people is is 6,404,436, of which 6,189,913 have already received their second dose and 3,853,458 and 275,434 have received their third and fourth dose, respectively.
A total of 1,542 new infections have been confirmed yesterday, bringing the total number of infected persons identified since the beginning of the epidemic to 1,874,206. The 31 deaths yesterday were mostly elderly, chronic patients, bringing the total number of deaths to 45,812. The number of recovered people continues to increase and now stands at 1,735,929, while the number of active infected people is 92,465. 1,800 patients with coronavirus are hospitalized, of whom 51 are on ventilators.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 11,225,020 coronavirus tests have been performed in Hungary.
The government has lifted mask mandates and phased out most coronavirus-related measures. The special legal order will remain in place to enable swift government action should a sixth wave of the pandemic hit the country.
