1,730 new COVID cases recorded in Hungary yesterday

48 people passed away yesterday due to complications related to COVID-19, while the number of vaccinated people now stands at 6,402,100.

The total number of vaccinated people is is 6,402,100, of which 6,186,486 have already received their second dose and 3,842,265 and 256,527 have received their third and fourth dose, respectively.

A total of 1,730 new infections have been confirmed yesterday, bringing the total number of infected persons identified since the beginning of the epidemic to 1,846,311. The 48 deaths yesterday were mostly elderly, chronic patients, bringing the total number of deaths to 45,390. The number of recovered people continues to increase and now stands at 1,700,728, while the number of active infected people is 100,193. 1,896 patients with coronavirus are hospitalized, of whom 55 are on ventilators.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 11,094,272 coronavirus tests have been performed in Hungary.

The government has lifted mask mandates and phased out most coronavirus-related measures. The special legal order will remain in place to enable swift government action should a sixth wave of the pandemic hit the country.
