According to the national police headquarters, 5,590 people crossed into Hungary directly from Ukraine on Wednesday, while another 4,269 from Ukraine crossed from Romania. Police issued temporary residence permits valid for 30 days to 329 people. Holders of such permits must contact a local immigration office near their place of residence within 30 days to apply for permanent documents. Budapest police received 215 refugees, 96 children among them, arriving by train.
