15,957 new COVID cases recorded in Hungary yesterday

65 people passed away yesterday due to complications related to COVID-19, while the number of vaccinated people now stands at 6,329,185.

The total number of vaccinated people is 6,329,185, of which 6,073,498 have already received their second vaccination and 3,457,497 have already received their third vaccination. Children between the age of 5 and 11 can now get vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine.

A total of 15,957 new infections were confirmed yesterday, bringing the total number of infected persons identified since the beginning of the epidemic to 1,401,457. The 65 deaths were mostly elderly, chronic patients, bringing the total number of deaths to 40,822. The number of recovered people continues to increase and now stands 1,193,210, while the number of active infected people is 167,425. 2,674 patients with coronavirus are hospitalized, of whom 201 are on ventilators.

The fourth dose of the COVID-vaccine is now available, and the quarantine period has been shortened to 7 days.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 9,661,929 coronavirus tests have been performed in Hungary.
