17,894 new COVID cases recorded in Hungary yesterday

88 people passed away yesterday due to complications related to COVID-19, while the number of vaccinated people now stands at 6,366,402.

The total number of vaccinated people is 6,366,402, of which 6,107,843 have already received their second vaccination and 3,700,305 have already received their third vaccination.

A total of 17,894 new infections were confirmed yesterday, bringing the total number of infected persons identified since the beginning of the epidemic to 1,600,411. The 88 deaths were mostly elderly, chronic patients, bringing the total number of deaths to 41,636. The number of recovered people continues to increase and now stands 1,330,876, while the number of active infected people is 227,899. 4,451 patients with coronavirus are hospitalized, of whom 163 are on ventilators.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 10,161,911 coronavirus tests have been performed in Hungary.

The fourth dose of the COVID-vaccine is now available, and the quarantine period has been shortened to 7 days. Immunity certificates of those having two vaccinations will be valid for an extended period, until 1 May, in line with the practice of other EU countries.
