19,213 new COVID cases recorded in Hungary yesterday

64 people passed away yesterday due to complications related to COVID-19, while the number of vaccinated people now stands at 6,347,426.

The total number of vaccinated people is 6,347,426, of which 6,085,866 have already received their second vaccination and 3,573,570 have already received their third vaccination. Children between the age of 5 and 11 can now get vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine.

A total of 19,213 new infections were confirmed yesterday, bringing the total number of infected persons identified since the beginning of the epidemic to 1,490,489. The 64 deaths were mostly elderly, chronic patients, bringing the total number of deaths to 41,151. The number of recovered people continues to increase and now stands 1,233,499, while the number of active infected people is 215,839. 3,267 patients with coronavirus are hospitalized, of whom 157 are on ventilators.

The fourth dose of the COVID-vaccine is now available, and the quarantine period has been shortened to 7 days.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 9,887,968 coronavirus tests have been performed in Hungary.
