19,690 new COVID cases recorded in Hungary yesterday

77 people passed away yesterday due to complications related to COVID-19, while the number of vaccinated people now stands at 6,365,250.

The total number of vaccinated people is 6,365,250, of which 6,105,342 have already received their second vaccination and 3,693,859 have already received their third vaccination. Children between the age of 5 and 11 can now get vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine.

A total of 19,690 new infections were confirmed yesterday, bringing the total number of infected persons identified since the beginning of the epidemic to 1,582,517. The 77 deaths were mostly elderly, chronic patients, bringing the total number of deaths to 41,548. The number of recovered people continues to increase and now stands 1,310,420, while the number of active infected people is 230,549. 4,341 patients with coronavirus are hospitalized, of whom 163 are on ventilators.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 10,116,075 coronavirus tests have been performed in Hungary.

The fourth dose of the COVID-vaccine is now available, and the quarantine period has been shortened to 7 days. As of February 15, immunity certificates will be linked to vaccination only.
