According to the national police headquarters, 5,382 people crossed into Hungary directly from Ukraine on Sunday, while another 6,120 from Ukraine crossed from Romania. Police issued temporary residence permits valid for 30 days to 314 people. Holders of such permits must contact a local immigration office near their place of residence within 30 days to apply for permanent documents. Budapest police received 429 refugees, 256 children among them, by train. Earlier figures show that 5,852 people crossed into Hungary directly from Ukraine on Saturday, while another 6,605 from Ukraine crossed from Romania.
