5,493,609 people have so far been vaccinated against COVID-19 in Hungary. 4,958,805 have already received the second dose of the vaccine.
With 32 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, the number of total cases now stands at 808,160. The number of those who have recovered grew to 739,204, and the number of active coronavirus cases now stands at 38,964.
There are currently 116 people hospitalized with COVID-19, 20 of whom are on ventilators.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 6,138,529 coronavirus tests have been performed in Hungary.
After reaching the 5 million vaccinated mark, another stage of reopening has taken effect. While many restrictions have been lifted, some protective measures remain in place as the virus is still present.
Mask wearing is still mandatory where those vaccinated and not vaccinated against COVID-19 meet indoors, including public transport and stores.
The same rules apply to watching matches on projectors set up in public areas such as terraces, which means spectators may watch the UEFA European Football Championship without an immunity certificate.
Once vaccinations reach 5.5 million, masks will no longer be required indoors and people will be allowed to go to hotels, restaurants, baths and water parks without an immunity certificate. However, masks will remain mandatory in the healthcare sector. The use of immunity certificates will be maintained for mass events, such as sports events, concerts, festivals and night clubs.
