5,506,665 people have so far been vaccinated against COVID-19 in Hungary

The total number of people infected with the coronavirus now stands at 808,262, while 4 more Hungarians succumbed to the virus at the weekend.

5,506,665 people have so far been vaccinated against COVID-19 in Hungary. 5,058,824 have already received the second dose of the vaccine.

With 65 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 over the weekend, the number of total cases now stands at 808,262. Meanwhile, 4 more Hungarians succumbed to the virus at the weekend and the number of those who have recovered grew to 740,195. The number of active coronavirus cases now stands at 38,071.

There are currently 82 people hospitalized with COVID-19, 18 of whom are on ventilators.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 6,164,167 coronavirus tests have been performed in Hungary.

As vaccinations has reached 5.5 million, masks are no longer required indoors and people are allowed to go to hotels, restaurants, baths and water parks without an immunity certificate. However, masks will remain mandatory in the healthcare sector. The use of immunity certificates will be maintained for mass events, such as sports events, concerts, festivals and night clubs.
