6,581 new COVID cases recorded in Hungary yesterday

94 people passed away yesterday due to complications related to COVID-19, while the number of vaccinated people now stands at 6,321,039.

The total number of vaccinated people is 6,321,039, of which 6,062,346 have already received their second vaccination and 3,423,900 have already received their third vaccination. Children between the age of 5 and 11 can now get vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine.

A total of 6,581 new infections were confirmed yesterday, bringing the total number of infected persons identified since the beginning of the epidemic to 1,355,084. The 94 deaths were mostly elderly, chronic patients, bringing the total number of deaths to 40,601. The number of recovered people continues to increase and now stands at 1,176,855, while the number of active infected people is 137,628. 2,289 patients with coronavirus are hospitalized, of whom 217 are on ventilators.

The fourth dose of the COVID-vaccine is now available, and the quarantine period has been shortened to 7 days.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 9,546,334 coronavirus tests have been performed in Hungary.
