According to the national police headquarters, 4,448 people crossed into Hungary directly from Ukraine on Monday, while another 3,113 from Ukraine crossed from Romania. Police issued temporary residence permits valid for 30 days to 294 people. Holders of such permits must contact a local immigration office near their place of residence within 30 days to apply for permanent documents. Budapest police received 339 refugees, 135 children among them, arriving by train.
