Alexandra Borbély has won the prize for best actress at the European Film Awards.
Borbély joined the likes of acting greats Juliette Binoche and Florence Pough after winning the award for her performance in “On Body and Soul”.
Upon receiving the accolade, the coveted actress could not find the words to express her joy at winning such a prestigious prize. Finally, after composing herself, she expressed her gratitude to Ildikó Enyedi and her family.
“On Body and Soul” tells the story of two people working at a slaughterhouse in Budapest who discover that they have the same dreams at night and they attempt to make them come true.
The film was nominated as the Hungarian entry for the Academy Award for best foreign-language film in September. The film was also awarded the Golden Bear, the main prize of the Berlin Film Festival, in February.
