After being chosen to host the MTV EMAs for the first time this year, Budapest was again chosen on Sunday to host the annual awards show next year.
This year, the MTV EMAs were held virtually. The hosts for the event from Budapest were Hungarian supermodel, Barbara Palvin, and French DJ-producer, David Guetta.
The duo hosted in the famous Széchenyi spa in the capital city. The Hungarian cities of Veszprém and Esztergom also had cameos in the online show.
The MTV EMAs not only awards amazing talent in the music industry but has broaden its horizons over the years. The Generation Change Award returned for a third year, this time to elevate and empower five women. The women were awarded for their work on the frontlines of the fight for racial and social injustice around the world.
This year, MTV celebrated all the local EMA winners from different countries for the first time ever with an exclusive MTV International Facebook Live event before the show.
The awards draw an online audience of around 1 billion people in 180 countries.
