Cardinal Péter Erdő, the head of the Hungarian Catholic Church, met with Holy See Secretary of State Pietro Parolin in Vatican City on Wednesday. According to MTI, Cardinal Erdő said he hoped that Pope Francis would pay another visit to Hungary but added that “it would be too early to talk about actual preparations” for such a visit. “We need to wait a few more months before we can seriously consider when the pope could visit again,” he said. In another development, Cardinal Erdő welcomed that “people have returned to the churches and church programs in the past two years”, adding that during the pandemic “many found support in religion”.
