CMO: Omicron variant accounts for 87% of infections in Hungary

The CMO urged everyone over the age of 12 who received their second Covid vaccine dose over four months ago to get a booster shot.

Chief Medical Officer Cecília Müller said the Omicron variant of the coronavirus now accounts for 87 percent of infections in Hungary. The CMO said those most at risk of severe illness from the virus are still the unvaccinated. She urged everyone over the age of 12 who received their second Covid vaccine dose over four months ago to get a booster shot as well. Müller noted that Hungarians can continue to get jabs without registration on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
