Conjoined twins from Bangladesh are to be separated by plastic surgeons in Hungary, it has been revealed.
Rabia and Rukiya, two-year-old girls conjoined by their heads, are to have the surgery conducted by three Hungarian doctors after their parents begged for the operation.
According to Blikk.hu, Dr András Csókay, Dr Gergely Pataki and Dr István Hudák will separate the girls’ skulls which have healed shut and the palliums clumped together.
Reports state that the twins also share the main vein network in their brains, and the doctors decided to treat the procedure like a brain tumor removal to ensure a safe separation.
