Here are the latest travel restrictions applied in Hungary:
* Starting September 1, foreigners (except foreign nationals with Hungarian residency, who are treated as Hungarian citizens) are only allowed to enter Hungary if it’s absolutely necessary.
* Based on bilateral agreements, V4 citizens who previously booked trips to Hungary may enter the country with one negative coronavirus test.
* Hungarians returning from abroad must undergo a medical examination upon arrival and either go into self-quarantine for 14 days or present two negative SARS-CoV-2 PCR tests.
* Transit through Hungary is possible, provided travelers do not leave the designated transit corridor and leave Hungary within 24 hours of entry.
Remember, it’s still vital for everyone to maintain a distance of 1.5 meters and cover their face in shops and on public transport within Hungary.
