Chief Medical Officer Cecília Müller said today that virus focal points continue to be in closed communities, including nursing homes, and hospital departments where there are already people infected with the disease.
However, despite cluster infections being evident in certain places across the country, there does seem to be light at the end of the tunnel. Müller said Hungary has now entered the second phase of the epidemic, and nobody will be left without care. She added that because people have adhered to the restrictive measures, the curve is beginning to flatten.
“Slightly easier regulations have come into force, but it is important that we continue to follow the measures,” Müller said. “Based on epidemiological data, the national infection rates have not changed, with the highest number of confirmed cases in Budapest and in Pest County,” she added.
