During today’s Operational Group press conference, Chief Medical Officer Cecília Müller highlighted the importance of wearing face masks in the correct way. It is currently compulsory to wear face masks on public transport in Budapest, as well as in shops, markets and in taxis.
“It’s important to wear the mask properly, so that it covers both the mouth and nose, while being as tight as possible,” Müller said. She added that washing hands is mandatory before and after wearing a mask.
Müller also said that the testing of a new form of blood-plasma treatment is underway: although the test subject is in a “balanced” condition, more time is needed to see whether the treatment works out.
Meanwhile, Colonel Lieutenant Róbert Kiss said even more cargo planes carrying protective gear will arrive in Hungary today. He said the load will include more than 17 tons of plastic gloves and 16 tons of surgical masks.
What’ more, Kiss said police officers had to launch proceedings in 3,631 cases for violating movement restrictions over the weekend.
