More Hungarian citizens have been diagnosed with COVID-19, bringing the confirmed number of cases in Hungary to 980. However, the good news is that 96 patients have now recovered from the virus.
“We are trying to avoid large-scale infections with the restrictions on movement,” Chief Medical Officer Cecilia Müller said yesterday. However, she added, based on experiences in other countries, the period of large-scale infections seems unavoidable.
Hungary is now in the period of cluster infections, when the virus spreads via social interaction. The disease can therefore be present anywhere. It’s vital for everyone to stay home and observe the recommendations and movement restrictions, especially elderly people, students and those who have returned from abroad.
The number of confirmed people infected with the coronavirus in Hungary now stands at 980. In compulsory home quarantine: 16,006. Recovered: 96. Deceased: 66.
Only together can we slow down the epidemic and flatten the curve.
