In the second half of February, the poems of great Hungarian poets will appear in Facebook Messenger conversations complete with emojis at 30 different locations across Budapest.
The billboard campaign is the brainchild of the MyAd Marketing group. They state that online communication has become an integral part of our everyday life, so are therefore showing what the poems could look like if they were sent today.
However, presenting the poems in a modern style does not change their value, yet it approaches the poems from an exciting, unique perspective. Their purpose is to make poetry truly eternal for all generations.
The campaign includes works by Miklós Radnóti, Sándor Petőfi, Sándor Weöres and Frigyes Karinthy. The aim is that schoolchildren can view their literature, read poems and enjoy reading as an experience.
Not only will the city of Budapest be flooded with the poems on billboards, but they will also appear on social media.
