FM: Hungarian companies cleared to export meat to Philippines

With over 112 million inhabitants, the market in the Philippines offers an “enormous opportunity” for the Hungarian food industry, the foreign minister said.

Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, has announced that Hungarian companies have been cleared to export meat to the Philippines for the first time.

In a post on Facebook on Sunday, the minister said the six companies were licensed for exports of pork, poultry and live animals after “long years of persistent work”. He added that two more companies could be cleared to export after supplementary documentation is submitted. With over 112 million inhabitants, the market in the Philippines offers an “enormous opportunity” for the Hungarian food industry, he added.
