According to the latest figures released by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH), the food retail sector experienced an unprecedented spike during the spring-summer season.
According to raw data, there’s been a 6.9 percent rise in the number of consumer goods purchased, which is one of the signs of a strong economy.
The figures show a 4.5 percent rise in food products alone, while supermarkets reported an increase in the number of shoppers. Petrol stations reported a 5.3 percent increase in profit during the peak season.
The upsurge in spending is the result of the stable rise in wages and the increased budget families were allocated. A vast number of families received state support at the beginning of July, and the unparalleled spike is strongly correlated with the success of the Family Protection Plan.
