Hungary's foreign minister has made an appearance on Fox News' popular Tucker Carlson Tonight political talk show where Carlson praised Hungary's recently announced demographic policies.
During the show, Péter Szíjjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, gave details of the country's fresh efforts to increase birth rates, announced by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in his recent state of the nation address.
"If we are not able to turn around the negative trend of demographics - which is unfortunately a phenomenon all over Europe - then we will definitely not win the future. And we want to win the future so we need more kids," Minister Szíjjártó said.
According to Rmx.news, the Hungarian government's additional family policy measures - to be implemented from the second half of the year - include large housing loans to families with two or more children, a lifetime exemption from income tax for all mothers with four or more children and a state-sponsored discount on the purchase of family cars.
"I've really thought that we can learn something important from another country but in this case, I think we really can," Carlson concluded the Szíjjártó-segment of his show.
