Gergely Gulyás says George Soros will continue to feature in Fidesz’s campaign in 2018

Gergely Gulyás said George Soros is a “symbolic figure in pro-migration policy and an anti-Hungary lobbyist”

Gergely Gulyás has said George Soros will continue to feature in Fidesz’s campaign in 2018 as a “symbolic figure in pro-migration policy and an anti-Hungary lobbyist”.

Fidesz’s group leader said communication on the issue of migration is determined by “common sense” and not hatred.

Commenting on Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s statement on 2017 being “the year when Soros organisations are pushed out of the country”, Gulyás said the “fight” was a long one, “but we have done well so far”.

Gulyás also highlighted how the Hungarian government’s relations with Germany’s ruling Christian Democratic Union (CDU) are “well balanced”, and with Bavaria’s ruling Christian Social Union (CSU), “excellent”.

“Our political relations with that country are incomparably better than our image in its press,” Gergely Gulyás said.

“Leftist and green outlets constitute about 70-80% of the German media. They view the importance of our Christian roots, true conservative politics, the cherishing and protection of the traditional family model, nation state politics and other values represented by the Hungarian government with genuine and open hatred ... sadly, the German press is not as varied as the Hungarian,” he said
