Government allocates HUF 140 billion towards road developments

The Hungarian government has allocated HUF 140 billion (EUR 364.1m) towards road developments. Finance Minister Mihály Varga said that 220 connecting roads will be reconstructed across the country from these funds, improving the accessibility of rural settlements, making transport safer and strengthening the local economy. Minister Varga said that dual carriageways will also be expanded; the length of Hungary’s expressways has been increased from 1,300 to 1,900kms since 2010.
