Government projects GDP growth of 4.3 percent this year and 5.2 percent in 2022

Finance Minister Mihály Varga said German and other foreign businesses operating in Hungary continue to have confidence in the Hungarian economy, with business leaders expecting the country’s growth to outpace the regional average this year.

During an online event of the German-Hungarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DUIHK) on Thursday, Minister Varga noted that the government projects GDP growth of 4.3 percent this year and 5.2 percent in 2022. He said that a record 88 percent of business leaders surveyed by the DUIHK say they would repeat their past investments in the country.
